How to Wear Your Eltee Sydney Periodwear for Maximum Protection

Make leaks a thing of the past! Read on to discover how to position your Eltee Sydney periodwear for superior protection and maximum comfort.

1. WASH BEFORE WEAR

Before you wear your undies for the first time, pop them in the wash. This activates the absorbent layers of lining and gets them ready for action.

If you want to go a step further (as sponge is most effective when it’s already a bit wet) you can dampen them slightly before you swim.

It's not a clincher, they'll work after a wash anyway, but dampening gives them a little extra oomph from the get-go. Great if you're experiencing a heavy flow day!

2. (UNDERSWIM & UNDERDANCE): Fit Guide

UnderSwim and UnderDance boast a Brazilian cut - high on the hip, scooped under the tummy and cheeky on the bottom. This shape allows them to disappear under outer layers - see pics below.

Achieve shape by pulling undies up so they sit comfortably on the hips and smooth out along the back.

Avoid pulling them too high though—no one likes a full-scale wedgie!😳

3. ALLOW TIME TO BREAK THEM IN

When they’re fresh from the pouch, the lining might feel a bit stiff. Don’t worry—after a few washes, they’ll soften up. Like all good things, it takes a little time!

Early-stage bottom bunching? It’s normal when they're brand spanking and a little stiff. Pop on your outerwear and et voila! You'll find that everything smooths out instantly!

4. A FEW OTHER TIPS...

  • No pads, please 🙅‍♀️: Adding a pad can interfere with the fit and seal of the lining.
  • Get the position right: Ensure the absorbent lining is in the right place - not directly underneath like a pad but slightly forward so they sit up towards the public bone. When worn as shown above, they should be in the right spot.
  • No 'heavy press' tests: While UnderSwim is designed to lock flow in, like any sponge-like material, if they're subjected to heavy compression they will eventually release. An example of this that we've experienced a few times is when customers bear down on the bottom of a bath to test UnderSwim.
